Teofimo Lopez escapes New York but gets caught in tornado in Arkansas as he talks of genuine dislike for Vasyl Lomachenko.
Regarding the Tornado:
“We just got hit by a tornado on Saturday, 28th of March. Luckily it only really effected the back yard. The trampoline was gone. We have parts here from a plane. Shingles gone. There’s people without homes right now. We got hit by just the edge of the tornado. We saw it coming towards us, it was scary.” “We found in the centre of the house a coat closet and we all hid in there. We brought a mattress over and we prayed for the best. Luckily it didn’t hit us hard. There are people who have no houses right now, the roofs have caved in. It’s scary. If it wasn’t for this coronavirus and everyone staying indoors, there would have been a lot more deaths.”
Regarding Lomachenko:
“There’s nobody else who can beat him other than myself. Everyone respects him too much or they’re too scared of him. They get nervous when he does those little bullshit steps. It’s too much respect. Luke Campbell had a good chance, but it was the same thing – too much respect. They hit this guy and feel like saying sorry to him. He’s a great fighter, but great fights are the best fights the best. One is the better fighter that night. I feel like I am the only one. It has to be down to me, it always ends up like that. Nobody else can, they’re too pussy to fight this guy and show him no respect. The moment you show no respect to this guy, like Salido. Obviously Loma is a different fighter who he was when he fought Salido, but it’s the same thing. When you show no respect to a fighter, it changes their whole demeanour. It changes how they come into the ring. He coming to fight and it changes their whole mindset. If he want to fight, fuck it, bring it on. He don’t want to fight, I’ll bring the right to him.”
